U.S.A

In the mid year break Dad decided to fly Mum and I to good ol' west coast USA. We arrived into LA and got picked up and driven down the Coronado, San Diego to see Grandmother and Celebrate July 4th with the American side of the family.

July 4 is something that the Americans hold very close to their hearts, Independence Day in Coronado is like no other. We woke up pretty lazy with a small fest of blueberry and chocolate chip pancakes and then headed up Orange street to view this 4 hour long spectacle that is the July 4th parade. Words cannot describe how intense and at time awkward this parade is. Find an American flag wrap it around your face so you are suffocated a little it then punch yourself in the face repeatedly until one sees multiple stars and strips. THAT, is the closest I could explain to the experience of the parade.

After the fireworks extravaganza and the celebrations died off Mum and I drove my newly acquired Datsun 240z (more on that in the next post) 600Miles up the coast to San Francisco to meet up with my oldest sister Hannah. The best drive I have ever done in one of the coolest cars i have ever got to drive. We did the journey over 2 days and saw some amazing parts of the west coast.

San Francisco was incredible. Its like Wellington but BIG! We spent about 3 days hanging out with Hannah and seeing all the sites of SF. After this we flew back down to LA and got a tour of Fox Studios by Hal. I’ve been looking into set design and stage design and this was an amazing experience and I’m very grateful. However I didn't get any photos as i sat shock the whole time! :-( The place was huge and amazing.
