During the Americas Cup, ACRM ran some dingy racing with the help of St Francis Yacht Club. The 18ft Skiffs came out in some of the biggest swells we had seen in the bay and results were quite devastating. After race one started we ended it up with 22 out of 22 boats upside down with the ebb tide taking them out of the bay. Tom Pete one of my good mates from Grammar happened to be on the Stoke boat heading the furthest out of the Golden Gate, after we called for back up and abandoned all racing we managed to gather a few boats along side Tom and his other team mates. After about 15 minutes of the boat being upside down we made contact with a huge cruise ship and managed to get them to change course in order to avoid running over three kiwis trying to survive the SF bay. The pictures do the talking..
