Lombard by night

Lombard Street may well be the most poorly photographed place in San Francisco. For the last 3 months I have lived at the bottom of the famous 'crookedest street in the world', everyday I see thousands of tourists stand in front of it and have their picture taken. The sad part is this street is almost impossible to take a photograph of its entirety because of the steepness of the streets and the heights of the hedges between each turn. Each person therefore ends up with, most likely, an out of focus picture of them with a road that looks like its made of hedges.

I decided to walk up the hill one night a few weeks ago and see if I could photograph this famous street, to emphasise the turns and obscurity of this street I turned to the one thing a knew would leave a mark. The light trails of the cars. Long exposure photos of lombard street are not original by any means, But with SF being the most photographed city in the world, I dont think any photo I have taken in the last three months has been entirely original.
